Ski Market gift cards would be worth half face value

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Ski Market stores will accept gift cards for 50 percent of their face value if an agreement is approved by a judge.

The agreement was negotiated with attorneys general for Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Ski Market initially refused to accept gift cards as part of bankruptcy proceedings. The company filed for Chapter 11 in December.

If approved by bankruptcy court, consumers will be able to use Ski Market gift cards for up to 50 percent of the card’s face value at any Ski Market store from Jan. 16 through Jan. 24.

The Massachusetts attorney general’s office said consumers must use the gift cards during a single visit and that because the store has filed for bankruptcy, merchandise cannot be returned.
